The guts of all the X32-models is basically the same, so if one works with ardour or indeed with linux, they all will. There’s also a 1U version available, but then you’d need one of Behringer’s 2U 16ch expansion boxes for I/O, and the 1U mixer is hard to impossible to use without a computer. This one has a display and buttons that makes it possible, but cumbersome, to operate it from the front panel. It can extend to 40ch as the original X32 using AES-attached preamps and AD-converters. That’s 16in/8out physical, 32/32 over USB/FW in 3U <1ft deep at about 6.5kg. No sound using behringer air xr18 via usb connection. It does not work if you only select a subset 2,4,5, etc.

Id MASSIVELY appreciate if someone can help me sort this. The x air android app allows you to control all mixing, processing and effects functions of behringers x.

However, I had problems getting it to work with Sonar 8.5 and returned it to American Musical Supply. Im pretty certain it wont be possible to do it direct via USB from the e-drum module (the X32 requires a host computer in this context and the drum module almost certainly cant do that). The BCF2000 was recognized and installed without problems by Windows 7. If not youd need the drums as a VST instrument or some such in a DAW to send the separate sounds to the X32. Mixer as its more easily ignored for years. This assigns channel 1-8 of the USB input to channel 1-8. This is done in blocks of 8: In the input 1-8 column, select the row Card 1-8. To connect the USB input to the 32 channels: Routing menu->Home tab: this is a list of possible inputs that can be assigned to the channels.
Most new USB drives will work, but not all are built for audio read/write speeds, so test recording and playback to make sure it works. Setup menu, Card tab: set to 32 in/32 out.

Im literally stumped as to what I have to do and why Windows isnt recognising the device. I had a Behringer BCF2000 Control Surface that I was trying with my Windows 7, 64 bit OS and Sonar 8.5. 1k and size of them connected to the Behringer X32. I consider getting one of Behringers new designs, their faderless X32 rack-model expected to hit the shelves this summer. On the actual x32 firmware, I dont see the option for selecting USB mode for the interface. Start the driver installer and make sure there’s no USB drive connected to your uTrack-X32.
